Frequently asked questions

Does the skill work with any Alexa device?

Yes — Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show and the Alexa app on your phone. What matters is the Amazon account the skill was enabled on.

Do I have to repeat "abrir meu Aquarino" for every command?

No. Once the skill is open, the conversation continues: you can chain commands. You only need to open it again when the conversation closes through inactivity.

Can more than one person use the skill on the same aquarium?

Yes. Each person enables the skill on their own Amazon account and links it with their own Aquarino account. Anyone who received the equipment through sharing also sees it in the listing.

Does the skill work if my internet goes down?

No. The conversation goes through the Aquarino cloud, so both the Alexa device and the equipment need to be online. Without internet, the equipment carries on running the aquarium normally — it just does not answer by voice. On the same network, the Local Manager is still reachable from a browser.

Can I create automation rules by voice?

No. Rules, schedules, calibrations and limits are configured in the app or in the Local Manager. Voice operates what is already configured.

Does the skill warn me when a sensor leaves the range?

No — it answers when you ask. The warnings keep arriving through the channels you configured: push, e-mail or Telegram.

How do I end Alexa's access to my equipment?

Disable the Aquarino skill in the Alexa app. The authorisation stops being valid and no command is accepted until you link again.

No. The authorisation is independent of the password. To end the access, disable the skill.
